A Few Words about Myself |
The Ripples@Work model is a new approach to learning designed by Dr Lena Redman.
Originally from Russia, Lena lives in Australia where she was teaching Visual Communication & Design, and Multimedia.
Seeing how much potential new technology, especially smartphones and social media have for learning, Lena did her research and wrote a doctoral dissertation on innovative, multimodal and interdisciplinary knowledge production.
Putting it more simply, creating innovative knowledge means coming up with fresh and practical ideas, systems, and designs in various areas like nature, society, art, technology, and more. These ideas can take many forms, such as infographics, 3-D models, websites, videos, or podcasts.
For new knowledge to be considered original and useful, the R@W community needs to see it as surprising, not just new for the sake of being new. It should offer real solutions to current problems. R@W creativity isn’t just about the end result; it’s about being inventive and resourceful from start to finish, using a mix of hands-on and digital tools, with the application of of both personal and team-shared manual and digital tools.
